Usage add-ons (additional storage, AI usage, build minutes, and artifact bandwidth) are available for workspaces that outgrow included capacity without needing the next plan. Add-ons are opt-in; nothing is billed by surprise. Upgrades take effect immediately (prorated); downgrades at the end of the billing period.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I self-host for free?
- Yes, forever. The platform core is AGPL-3.0 and self-hosting includes every core feature: the full control loop, all Git functionality, Simple and Developer Mode, the Environment Vault, and agent runs with your own provider key. Cloud plan limits do not apply to self-hosted installations. What the cloud adds is hosting, operations, managed capacity, and billing.
- What counts as an agent action?
- One metered model call using Keelson-managed provider keys. An agent run spends a few: one to plan, one to execute the approved plan, one for the independent review. Read-only workflows (asking a repository question, explaining a file or error, summarizing a review request) spend one each. With bring-your-own-key (your Anthropic or OpenAI-compatible key), usage is not counted against platform actions on any plan, including Free.
- What happens when I hit a limit?
- You are warned before it happens, at 80% of any metered limit. Hitting a limit without an add-on blocks the metered action with a clear message; it never generates a surprise charge. Usage add-ons (storage, AI usage, build minutes, artifact bandwidth) are strictly opt-in.
- Do build minutes do anything today?
- Build minutes are metered from day one so pricing doesn't change later, but CI runners ship in a future release. Nothing silently spends them today. Deploys currently run through integrations such as Vercel.
- What about Enterprise?
- Enterprise covers SSO, SCIM, dedicated infrastructure, customer-managed keys, compliance exports, and custom retention. It is architecture-prepared but not built yet. We sell it when it exists, not before. Contact us if you want to help shape it.
Never gated: clone, push, branch, merge, history, and reviews work identically on every plan, including Free, and including self-hosted installations, where cloud plan limits do not apply at all.
